Not satisfied with your website visits? Redesign your page!

For over 2 years, I’ve watched my two primary sites languish in never land. I had hardly any visitors and no page rank to speak of . My page rank was 0. Then I decided to redesign one site – The Home Work Directory. I was fed up waiting for traffic. It took about 6 weeks after I put it back up, but it went to PR-1 on Google. The redesign worked – not exactly a blistering pace, but I can live with it. Empowered, I decided to completely redesign my second site – The Home Business Web. This time I went to page rank 1 in about 2 weeks. Applying what I learned over 2 years, it’s possible. I did my homework by choosing the necessary keywords, sprinkle here, baste there. It does work if you take your time and do the keyword research. It really is a game. But it’s one you need to play if you want results. I’m talking money and visitors. I learned from one of the best originally. His name is Erich Winneke. He started something called TOPS- (Top Online Profits) and the 3 phase program. I feel like I owe him a lot. I got serious about my businesses after that, especially the need to design them myself. Game On! Google basically invented the game and you need to play. You’ll earn what you learn. For the longest time I was afraid of Pay Per Click (PPC). I thought my money would be sucked into a big black hole with nothing to show for it. I finally tried it – with Google – and got excellent results. They were very fair with me and my sponsored ad always appeared on the first page from the first position to the sixth under the sponsored ads section. You never even had to scroll down to see it! Thanks Google! What did I advertise? This - Yes it’s that good! I was very happy with the results I got from Google, and GDI is a wonderful business. I received numerous signups. I also needed to know how exactly to how to follow up with my signups. This was another area I used to have a little trouble with. I solved that with Magnetic Sponsoring. Mike Dillard is the master in this area. I bought his book and read it over again when I can. It shows you how to become “the hunted instead of the hunter”. If you want to see your webpage exactly the way a search engine would you need to use a text browser like Lynx. As Google puts it “ Use a text browser such as Lynx to examine your site, because most search engine spiders see your site much as Lynx would. If fancy features such as JavaScript, cookies, session IDs, frames, DHTML, or Flash keep you from seeing all of your site in a text browser, then search engine spiders may have trouble crawling your site.” It’s very easy to do and literally took me 5 minutes for my sites. First, go here: http://www.delorie.com/web/howto-allow.html and create a new blank webpage with the url checks. Copy the nine lines of code exactly and paste into your site builder. Save this file as “delorie.htm” as they suggest then upload it to your server in the public html area. This will work for all your pages after you upload it and just tells delorie that you actually own the site you’re trying to test. That’s it! Now you can see your webpage exactly as a search engine spider would and make any adjustments you deem necessary. For instance, I found I had 2 random “dots” in my navbar heading that had no reason being there, so I removed them. It’s interesting to see how the spiders view your page. Why not take a few minutes and make sure you site is search engine ready?

The Blur!

This has nothing to do with on-line biz or marketing, but I wanted to share this with you. We have 2 cats-Huntley and Brinkley. They’re 16 months old. This is about Brinkley. I just came back from the kitchen for another cup of coffee when I had to stop for “The Blur”. Brinkley starts with a head of steam in the kitchen. Since the floor is tile, he revs it up to around 4000 rpm and doesn’t do much until he hits the dining room - which is carpeted, then he really takes off. He’ll negotiate the slight curve into the living room and take the sofa in one leap. He hits in the middle and stops when he runs into the big picture window at the end of the sofa. He looks at me like he’s saying “I really meant to do that”. He’ll stand for a minute looking at the squirrels running up and down the red maple in the yard, swish his tail back & forth - I really wish I was out there. His return trip is the exact same route, but when he hits the kitchen he’ll slide until he hits the fridge. This usually stops him. If he bounces off, he’ll take two quick circles, (I think this has something to do with running into the window),then prepare for the living room launch again. Head down, check. Butt up, check. We have liftoff! My Wife put a collar and bell on both of them so we can hear them coming. This helps. When you hear the bell (especially when you have hot coffee in your hand), stop and listen which direction the sound is coming from. Well I’m off for another cup of coffee…

Make Your Life Easier

I just got home from my day job and sat down to check my email for what I really want to do-my online businesses. Usually I skim the mail and if something catches my eye, I’ll go over it further. Mind you, this was just in my personal business mail. I actually read 27 emails this time and they offered nothing of substance that I could use. How do these people get my address? I read something a while ago that’s really true. If you’ve been in it for a while and don’t use it-unsubscribe! We join so many things that at the time seem promising and later wonder -why am I getting this email? Read the fine print. When you sign up for something, you’re not only signing up for that original offer, but their whole network that will send you everything they can, often unrelated to your original inquiry or purchase. Here’s an exercise! Go over your business mail (personal accounts don’t count) and cull out everything you don’t need, want or use. If you don’t recognize the sender, unsubscribe. This should take you a few minutes J. If you’re really ambitious, go through your bookmarks and delete what ones you don’t need or haven’t used. That writers block or advertising block that we all run into can be avoided or lessened by just doing this and focusing on what you know works. You’d be surprised how much more effective and productive you can be. Now, back to my bookmarks… Paul Touranjoe

A concept to get almost anything accomplished!

It's called learning. The real reason why most people struggle or even fail when they start a business, any business, is they really aren't sure what they're doing. This is especially true of the on-line business. Because the Internet changes constantly, about every 8 or 9 months actually, and your advertising that worked in the past won't work now.

I'm an on-line marketer and home business owner. If I tried to use the same forms of marketing I did a few years ago, I'd fall flat on my face. The Internet arena evolves and you must evolve with it. Think about it. A while back we started to put video and audio on websites. Now it's commonplace. Web 2.0 came about a while ago and now it's all the rage. We'll graduate to something else in the months ahead.

However while the methods have evolved, the principles have remained the same. In marketing, you still have to GRAB someone's attention initially and be able to HOLD it through your entire message. This is where the fun comes in. This is also where the money comes in. If you do this successfully, you can make good money on the Internet.

The principles are pretty simple. Know your "target market" (You won't sell a lot of ice to people living in the Arctic) and you must make the person reading your sales copy want to read it to the end and take the appropriate action.

This is the tricky part. You can swing the odds in your favor though by learning about what you want to do. Learn your target market and learn the wonderful art of marketing. Read everything you can about how successful marketers do what they do. If you're successful at marketing a product, you'll convert sales and people will pay you good money if you can sell their product.

You can never learn too much and you can never put a price tag on an investment in yourself. Learn the art of marketing and believe in yourself and who knows, maybe you can sell ice to people living in the Arctic!

You can sponsor new people every day (IF you do it correctly)

I've been doing online marketing for years with limited success. I've worked hard and usually spent good money trying to accomplish the project I was working on. Well there's an easier way and it seems I was doing it backwards. Yes, backwards. I usually advertised the product or service upfront, advertised the heck out of it, and the results were very limited. Don't get me wrong, I'd get results - just not the rockets in red air, blow the hinges off result I was looking for. A week ago, I was speaking to someone in one of my businesses and she suggested something called Magnetic Sponsoring, started by someone named Mike Dillard. I looked it over, watched the videos and was so impressed I ordered his book. This is how I found out I was marketing back asswards. In my defense, it seems 95% of marketers do it the wrong way. Mike Dillard makes a lot of sense and he really has the numbers to back up what he says. Now, I'm beginning to get the rockets in red air, blow the hinges off result I'm looking for. Much easier and more productive! Paul Touranjoe http://prism2008.magneticsponsoringonline.com

Learning new things-Always!

Sorry I haven’t written in awhile- I was away. I hope everyone that does make it here and reads this blog is doing alright and everything is going well for you. I really appreciate you taking the time to be here. I’m learning new things. I’ve signed up with Tomey Marketing and have been taking her course about PLR (private label rights). Liz Tomey is an excellent educator and I did purchase her course. Now, I really do my homework before I give anyone my hard earned money and I’ve been with Tomey Marketing for about 2 years. They have taught me the ins and outs of building a list, building an appealing site, putting up sales products, etc. The bottom line is you have to know what you’re doing. No one will buy anything from a crappy looking site or won’t come back to one that takes you to the wrong page when you're trying to get something. On the home front, my Wife got 2 new kittens – Huntley and Brinkley. I forgot how much fun it is to have kittens around. On the first visit to the Vet, he started calling them “the kids”. He gave them a physical and their first shots and they took it all in stride. They have to explore everything, their favorite place to play is the shower and they just learned how to unroll the toilet paper. Our other cat, Trinket puts up with them. She’s 19 years young and kind of set in her ways. Ok, back to online stuff. In the next blog, I’ll keep you updated on what I’ve learned with this course. Anyone can do this and if you do it right, you will make a few bucks. I’m also in the process of redesigning one of my sites to accommodate this new venture. I hope you’ll like it when I get done. Here's Tomey Marketing's link. It really is worth the visit. http://www.resellrightsfornewbies.com/members/?rid=11005 Until next time... Paul Touranjoe http://thehomeworkdirectory.com/

Another day working on the Sites

Wow, I just spent the last 2 hours submitting my sites to classifies, link directories and a few select traffic exchanges. It’s a lot of work, but has to be done if you want targeted traffic. I usually use the Article Submitter to reach the article sites and Arelis and Link Machine to get the links I need. These DO make the job easier. For site design I use Dreamweaver and that makes the designing job as well as the uploads much easier,. The files stay were you put them. You really can’t count the hours because you love what you’re doing. My good wife told me something I’ve never forgotten, She said the key to being successful is to simply do something you love to do even if you didn’t get paid for it; the success would follow. Well, I here to tell you that she was right and it has. I love having my own sites, working on them; tweaking them… you know what I mean! I’m actually sitting here smiling. I think it’s way cool how you can manipulate your site to look exactly the way you want. It’s almost an extension of your personality, which can be a good thing or bad one depending on your point of view The thing I don’t like all that much is marketing. It’s a pain, but necessary. As I mentioned, some of this software can speed up the process but it’s sure not as much fun as working on the sites. Give me a jingle if you know of any other software I could use to make my marketing easier. Paul Touranjoe
